127.
Parameters specified as nested elements

 128.
fileset

 129.
You can use any number of nested
<fileset>

 130. elements to define the files for this task and refer to
 131.
<fileset>
s defined elsewhere.

 132.
arg

 133.
Command line arguments should be specified as nested
 134.
<arg>
elements. See <a
 135. href="../using.html#arg">Command line arguments.

 136.
srcfile

 137.
By default the file names of the source files will be added to the
 138. end of the command line. If you need to place it somewhere different,
 139. use a nested
<srcfile>
element between your
 140.
<arg>
elements to mark the insertion point.

 141.
targetfile

 142.

<targetfile>
is similar to
 143.
<srcfile>
and marks the position of the target
 144. filename on the command line. If omitted, the target filenames will
 145. not be added to the command line at all. This element can only be
 146. specified, if you also define a nested mapper and the dest
 147. attribute.

 148.
env

 149.
It is possible to specify environment variables to pass to the
 150. system command via nested
<env>
elements. See the
 151. description in the section about exec

 152.
Examples

 153.

 154. <apply executable="ls" >
 155. <arg value="-l"/>
 156. <fileset dir="/tmp">
 157. <patternset>
 158. <exclude name="**/*.txt"/>
 159. </patternset>
 160. </fileset>
 161. <fileset refid="other.files"/>
 162. </apply>
 163.

 164.
invokes
ls -l
, adding the absolute filenames of all
 165. files below
/tmp
not ending in
.txt
and all
 166. files of the FileSet with
id

other.files
to
 167. the command line.

 168.

 169. <apply executable="somecommand" parallel="false" >
 170. <arg value="arg1"/>
 171. <srcfile/>
 172. <arg value="arg2"/>
 173. <fileset dir="/tmp"/>
 174. </apply>
 175.

 176.
invokes
somecommand arg1 SOURCEFILENAME arg2
for each
 177. file in
/tmp
replacing SOURCEFILENAME with the absolute
 178. filename of each file in turn. If
parallel
had been set
 179. to true, SOURCEFILENAME would be replaced with the absolute filenames
 180. of all files separated by spaces.

 181.

 182. <apply executable="cc" dest="src/C" parallel="false">
 183. <arg value="-c"/>
 184. <arg value="-o"/>
 185. <targetfile/>
 186. <srcfile/>
 187. <fileset dir="src/C" includes="*.c"/>
 188. <mapper type="glob" from="*.c" to="*.o"/>
 189. </apply>
 190.

 191.
invokes
cc -c -o TARGETFILE SOURCEFILE
for each
 192.
.c
file that is newer than the corresponding
 193.
.o
, replacing TARGETFILE with the absolute filename of
 194. the
.o
and SOURCEFILE with the absolute name of the
 195.
.c
file.
