  24. <h3>April 4th, 2005 - The Apache Ant Project Retires Antidote, the
  25. Ant GUI</h3>
  26. <p>The Antidote subproject was once started to provide a GUI for
  27. Ant at a time where IDE support for Ant was far from usable.
  28. Unfortunately it never attracted a developer community of its
  29. own.</p>
  30. <p>At the same time IDE support for Ant has become ubiquitous by
  31. now and there is little reason to have a GUI just for Ant. This
  32. makes it even less likely that volunteers will start to spend time
  33. working on it.</p>
  34. <p>Antidote's development has been stalled for years now, despite
  35. some efforts to rejuvenate it by single developers. Therefore the
  36. Ant developers have chosen to retire Antidote.</p>
  37. <p>Antidote will no longer be developed by the Ant project; its
  38. CVS module will be shut down.</p>
  39. <p>If you are interested in Antidote's sources to learn from or

  55. Ant default namespace as well as the task's or type's namespace.</p>
  56. <p>All exceptions thrown by tasks are now wrapped in a
  57. buildexception giving the location in the buildfile of the task.</p>
  58. <p>Ant 1.6.2 fixes a large number of bugs and adds a number of
  59. features which were asked for by users on Bugzilla.</p>
