222.
Security permissions can be revoked and granted during the execution of the

229. If you do not specify permissions,

242.
Assertion statements are currently ignored in non-forked mode.

243.
since Ant 1.6.

244.
redirector

245. Since Ant 1.6.2
246.
A nested I/O Redirector
247. can be specified. In general, the attributes of the redirector behave
248. as the corresponding attributes available at the task level. The most
249. notable peculiarity stems from the retention of the
<java>

250. attributes for backwards compatibility. Any file mapping is done
251. using a
null
sourcefile; therefore not all
252. Mapper types will return
253. results. When no results are returned, redirection specifications
254. will fall back to the task level attributes. In practice this means that
255. defaults can be specified for input, output, and error output files.
256.

257.
Errors and return codes

258. By default the return code of a
<java>
is ignored.
259. Alternatively, you can set
resultproperty
to the name
260. of a property and have it assigned to the result code (barring immutability,
261. of course).
262. When you set
failonerror="true"
, the only possible value for
263.
resultproperty
is 0. Any non-zero response is treated as an
264. error and would mean the build exits.
265.
Similarly, if
failonerror="false"
and
fork="false"

266. , then
<java>
must return 0 otherwise the build will
267. exit, as the class was run by the build JVM.

268.
JAR file execution

269. The parameter of the jar attribute is of type File;
270. that is, the parameter is resolved to an absolute file relative to the
271. base directory of the project, not the directory in which the Java
272. task is run. If you need to locate a JAR file relative to the directory
273. the task will be run in, you need to explicitly create the full path
274. to the JAR file.
275.
Examples

276.

277. <java classname="test.Main">
278. <arg value="-h"/>
279. <classpath>
280. <pathelement location="dist/test.jar"/>
281. <pathelement path="${java.class.path}"/>
282. </classpath>
283. </java>
284.

285. Run a class in this JVM with a new jar on the classpath
286.

287. <java jar="dist/test.jar"
288. fork="true"
289. failonerror="true"
290. maxmemory="128m"
291. >
292. <arg value="-h"/>
293. <classpath>
294. <pathelement location="dist/test.jar"/>
295. <pathelement path="${java.class.path}"/>
296. </classpath>
297. </java>
298.

299. Run the JAR test.jar in this project's dist/lib directory.
300. using the manifest supplied entry point, forking (as required),
301. and with a maximum memory of 128MB. Any non zero return code breaks the build.
302.

303. <java
304. dir="${exec.dir}"
305. jar="${exec.dir}/dist/test.jar"
306. fork="true"
307. failonerror="true"
308. maxmemory="128m"
309. >
310. <arg value="-h"/>
311. <classpath>
312. <pathelement location="dist/test.jar"/>
313. <pathelement path="${java.class.path}"/>
314. </classpath>
315. </java>
316.

317. Run the JAR dist/test.jar relative to the directory
318. ${exec.dir}, this being the same directory into which the JVM
319. is to start up.
320.
<java classname="test.Main"/>

321.

322. <java classname="test.Main"
323. fork="yes" >
324. <sysproperty key="DEBUG" value="true"/>
325. <arg value="-h"/>
326. <jvmarg value="-Xrunhprof:cpu=samples,file=log.txt,depth=3"/>
327. </java>
328.

329. Note: you can not specify the (highly deprecated) MSJVM, "jview.exe" as the
330. JVM, as it takes different parameters for other JVMs,
331. That JVM can be started from
<exec>
if required.
