181.
Parameters specified as nested elements

 182.
fileset

 183.
You can use any number of nested
<fileset>

 184. elements to define the files for this task and refer to
 185.
<fileset>
s defined elsewhere.

 186.
filelist

 187.
Since Ant 1.6

 188.
You can use any number of nested
<filelist>

 189. elements to define the files for this task and refer to
 190.
<filelist>
s defined elsewhere.

 191.
arg

 192.
Command line arguments should be specified as nested
 193.
<arg>
elements. See <a
 194. href="../using.html#arg">Command line arguments.

 195.
srcfile

 196.
By default the file names of the source files will be added to the
 197. end of the command line (unless you set addsourcefile to
 198.
false
). If you need to place it somewhere different,
 199. use a nested
<srcfile>
element between your
 200.
<arg>
elements to mark the insertion point.

 201.
targetfile

 202.

<targetfile>
is similar to
 203.
<srcfile>
and marks the position of the target
 204. filename on the command line. If omitted, the target filenames will
 205. not be added to the command line at all. This element can only be
 206. specified, if you also define a nested mapper and the dest
 207. attribute.

 208.
env

 209.
It is possible to specify environment variables to pass to the
 210. system command via nested
<env>
elements. See the
 211. description in the section about exec

 212.
Examples

 213.

 214. <apply executable="ls">
 215. <arg value="-l"/>
 216. <fileset dir="/tmp">
 217. <patternset>
 218. <exclude name="**/*.txt"/>
 219. </patternset>
 220. </fileset>
 221. <fileset refid="other.files"/>
 222. </apply>
 223.

 224.
invokes
ls -l
, adding the absolute filenames of all
 225. files below
/tmp
not ending in
.txt
and all
 226. files of the FileSet with
id

other.files
to
 227. the command line.

 228.

 229. <apply executable="somecommand" parallel="false">
 230. <arg value="arg1"/>
 231. <srcfile/>
 232. <arg value="arg2"/>
 233. <fileset dir="/tmp"/>
 234. </apply>
 235.

 236.
invokes
somecommand arg1 SOURCEFILENAME arg2
for each
 237. file in
/tmp
replacing SOURCEFILENAME with the absolute
 238. filename of each file in turn. If
parallel
had been set
 239. to true, SOURCEFILENAME would be replaced with the absolute filenames
 240. of all files separated by spaces.

 241.

 242. <apply executable="cc" dest="src/C" parallel="false">
 243. <arg value="-c"/>
 244. <arg value="-o"/>
 245. <targetfile/>
 246. <srcfile/>
 247. <fileset dir="src/C" includes="*.c"/>
 248. <mapper type="glob" from="*.c" to="*.o"/>
 249. </apply>
 250.

 251.
invokes
cc -c -o TARGETFILE SOURCEFILE
for each
 252.
.c
file that is newer than the corresponding
 253.
.o
, replacing TARGETFILE with the absolute filename of
 254. the
.o
and SOURCEFILE with the absolute name of the
 255.
.c
file.
